NAMA YOSO

Nama Yoso is a contemporary kiosk inspired by the character of traditional Japanese street food alleys, reinterpreted within a compact and modern pavilion format. The concept focuses on creating an intimate culinary experience where preparation, service, and interaction become part of the spatial identity. Influenced by Japanese principles such as Wabi-Sabi, Ma, and Shokunin, the design emphasizes simplicity, craftsmanship, balanced proportions, and the considered use of space, resulting in a refined kiosk that feels authentic, functional, and visually distinctive.

The material direction for Nama Yoso combines raw architectural finishes with refined Japanese details to create a balanced and distinctive kiosk environment. Cast concrete, slate grey ceramic tiles, light oak, polished black stone, and brushed brass form the core palette, complemented by warm backlit lantern elements, Japanese-inspired illustrations, and traditional graphic references. The result is a contemporary interpretation of Japanese craftsmanship that feels minimal, tactile, and culturally grounded.
